Most of our customers opt for tones of white, cream, grey, and natural wood. These colours can be chosen from our standard colour options, and there’s no denying that they work beautifully, but occasionally someone rings up asking for something a bit different. And that makes our ears prick up!

So if you’re thinking of going off-piste, that’s where the colour charts come in! Want to make your shutters a fabulous statement in your room? And why not? Our shutters are beautiful – we’re all for showing them off in juicy colours.

What colour shutters can I have?

Aside from our standard colour range, when it comes to custom colours, we can be very flexible. In short, we can match any Farrow & Ball shade, any tone from the Dulux colour charts, and we can also match to any Little Greene colour of your choice.

When choosing a colour – especially custom colours, it can be really tricky to pick from a screen, so we do recommend ordering some samples. Ordering custom colour samples takes a little longer than our standard samples as we ship them direct from our factory in China to make sure the colour is the exact match to the paint we’ll mix for your shutters. It can take up to 2 weeks to deliver this to you. Your consultant can also bring some alternative colour swatches with them when they visit you to talk through sizing, options, and measurements.

How do I order custom colour shutters?

Just let your consultant know what colour you’d like us to colour match your shutters to when they come to visit you on your appointment in your home. They will take down all the details, as well as your measurements and material choice, and get a sample out to you to approve.

The full ordering process is detailed here.

Does it cost more for custom colour shutters?

It costs just 10% extra to choose a custom shutter colour. This extra cost is to cover our colour matching and posting 1 sample out for your approval, and mixing the paint specially for your shutters.

Will brighter colours fade over time?

Not at all! We use the highest quality specially-mixed paint, plus we finish all our shutters with an anti-fade coat to protect them from bleaching UV rays. All our shutters come with a 5 year, no-quibble guarantee as standard as well. No niggles about what is and what’s not covered – you’re in good hands here.

Are custom colour shutters more
prone to chips and scratches?

As with any shutters, it depends on how well you look after them. With normal day-to-day use, we wouldn’t expect colourful shutters to get any more wear and tear than paler colours. You can rest assured with us, any accidental knocks can be easily covered with the tester pot of paint we leave with you in your chosen colour. You’ll be covered for small touch-ups for the foreseeable.
